Embarrassing FIA U-Turns

As if the scandals of 2008 aren’t embarrassing enough, the FIA manages embarrass itself further trying to push through wholesale changes on the points system of which it had no authority to do so without sign off from the teams i.e. FOTA.  The new winner takes all system will be delayed by 12 months.

The next embarrassment comes when the FIA backtracked on the F1 superlicence by agreeing with the GPDA to reduce the superlicence fees.  This was agreed on the basis of cost cutting measure being put in place therefore the points are not worth as much to the drivers as they were before.

Then we have the FIA admitting the budget cap could be raised to 50 - 60 million Euros, quite predictable really as we have become accustomed to the tactics employed by the FIA to get its own way in the sport.
