Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness
Just read the book written by James Allen. It’s a pretty book which predictably covers Schumacher’s early beginnings right through to retirement. I quite like the way the first chapter started with Monaco 2006 or Racasse Gate to demonstrate Shumel Shumi. I find it amusing the way Corinna is quoted defending Schumi as not a cheat, as its highly laughable given his conduct. What’s quite sickening yet laughable is the over enthusiasm by the author of Schumacher however restrained (which I’m thankful for). I think James criticises Kimi Raikkonen a bit too much and highly unjustified given he brought the title home in his first year but his criticism of Ralf is quite just.
A book certainly worth buying for any motorsports fan that offers many insights into Schumacher as a multiple sports champion, his relationship Ayrton Senna as well as the formula 1 industry and the characters in it.
